“Held Together” 2025

Held Together explores the physical and emotional strain of labour through the movements of my dad, a construction worker. Using drawing, embroidery, and textiles, I translate his repetitive gestures into layered visual forms inspired by Rudolf Laban’s movement theory. The stitched lines trace the effort, tension, and endurance within each action, while the fabric itself becomes a site of pressure and resilience. Through stretching, layering, and pulling materials, the work reflects how the body holds together under the weight of work — revealing both its strength and vulnerability.
